COURSE DESCRIPTION
FIREFIGHER SURIVAL & RAPID INTERVENTION TEAMS
Firefighter Survival & Rapid Intervention Teams. (RIT) This two-day course provides Firefighters & Officers with the critical knowledge and hands-on skills required to prevent, recognize, and respond to firefighter emergencies in IDLH environments.
Participants will cover firefighter survival techniques, self-rescue, MAYDAY procedures, air management under stress, and situational awareness. The course also includes Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations, focusing on team deployment, Incident Commands role, search techniques, coordinated rescue operations and firefighter removal.
Students will perform realistic, scenario-based training designed to build competence and confidence in high-stress, time-critical situations. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, command, communication, and firefighter survivability.
